The history of the Fahey Group of Companies goes back to the 1890's with Patrick Fahey. Patrick left his home in Ireland and went to Chicago where he joined Wells Fargo Transport. He worked training the wild horses from the prairie in preparation for work on local and long distance transport and travel including transporting goods to and from the ports. If the horses were not trained properly then Patrick was out of a job. He was rightly proud that the horses were never returned as unfit for the job.
