The history of the Fahey Group of Companies goes back to the 1890’s with Patrick Fahey. Patrick left his home in Ireland and went to Chicago, where he joined Wells Fargo Transport. He worked training the wild horses from the prairie in preparation for work on local and long distance transport and travel including transporting goods to and from the ports. If the horses were not trained properly then Patrick was out of a job. He was rightly proud that the horses were never returned as unfit for the job.

This set the family on the road to owning and running a transport business.  There probably isn’t a removals 'challenge' for which Faheys haven’t found a solution, at some point during the last 40+ years in business.  And the vast amount of knowledge and expertise passed down to son Peter and in turn to grandsons, Andrew and Simon ensures the Fahey service remains "Second to none”.

The experience gained in the dedicated management of a removal business has proved invaluable, the Business requires leadership from the face of adversity, especially when setting standards and motivating staff to maintain them.  We are in the people business and gaining their trust and belief enables us to treat them as ambassadors of our Company. They are not machines and therefore an understanding of and allowance for the difficulties that may arise, ensure that the service provided to the customer is uninterrupted and maintained to their requirement.  If the management team are sufficiently experienced and committed to recognize where they need to motivate, adapt or change their personnel, they can ensure the smooth running of the service.

Our length of service to customers is of great importance to us. We work to establish an acceptable standard and to maintain that standard to the customer’s satisfaction. We invite competition, to establish that our charges are competitive and ensure that through our trade suppliers and associations, we keep our customers informed of the latest developments within the industry to enable us to provide the best available services.
